Congratulations and welcome to Discovery Toys! Please
read the information below carefully as it contains important training
information.
I have broken the beginning process down into
10 easy steps. Follow these 10 steps and call me when you are finished and/or have
questions. These steps should be completed within one week of signing up.
1. Register On Consultants Online
www.discoverytoysinc.com/eco.html
Click on the Registration link toward the bottom of
the page. Follow the instructions on the screen. Your password is the last four
digits of your SIN number.
Once you are registered your user name is 00200
followed by your EC# without spaces i.e 00200xxxxxx.
2. Register on E-Clic
Click on the 'I'm a first time user' option. Follow
the instructions on the screen. Your password is the last four digits of your
SIN number. NOTE: This is a separate program than consultants online so if you
created a password when you registered on Consultants online it will NOT work in
E-Clic. FIRST use the last four digits of your SIN and then change your password
(it's okay to use the same password for both Consultants Online and E-Clic.
*** Do NOT save E-Clic to your favorites or make it
your home page. This will cause problems when you try and log in.
3. Set up your FREE Website
If you are not already logged in, then log into E-Clic.
Select Web Business Tools. On the left hand side of the page click on the
"Edit Webpage" option. Follow the instructions.
Your website is FREE for 3 months. After that it is
$19.99 US per month. You are responsible for cancelling your website if you
decide not to continue after the 3 month period.
4. List of 100
This is a VERY important step to starting your
business. It may seem a little silly but it absolutely works. Fill this list out
completely and call me when you are finished. You should do this in your FIRST
WEEK of the business.

5. Who Do you Know
Make a list of 5 people you know who may benefit from
working with Discovery Toys. Remember, these are not people who you think are
going to join - this is simply a list of people who in your opinion would
benefit. This may be someone who hates their job, needs extra money, is a stay
at home mom, wants to save for a new living room set etc.
6. Book your 2 Grand Opening Dates
Do NOT consult with friends for availability - you
simply will not find a date that works for everyone. Choose 2 dates that work
well for you this month.
If someone can't make it to the
first party, your response can be, "Not to worry I've planned my second Grand
Opening for ______ you'll come to that one right?"
7. Vista Print
As you are now running a business I recommend ordering
business cards and/or advertising materials. You can do this however you'd like.
However, I really like the following website:

This site constantly offers FREE business cards,
address labels, stamps and other advertising materials. You only need to pay for
shipping. Set up a free account on this site and you will be informed each time
they have a sale. Never pay full price for anything at vista print - they offer
new deals almost weekly.
I usually order the 25 FREE small magnets and use
these as my business cards. This way people can put my business card on their
fridge instead of in the garbage
Answers to common questions when preparing business
cards:
- your title is "Educational Consultant" -
include your name, title, phone number, fax number if applicable, email address
and website if applicable - your card should have Discovery Toys mentioned
somewhere on the card and should also mention the opportunity to get free
toys and the work from home opportunity

8. Organize your home 'office'

Select a location in your home that can use for your
business. This could be a room or a corner of a room.

You will need a notebook
for jotting down notes, recording customer information etc.

You will need a
day timer to help track your appointments

if you need help selecting a good
day timer I have an organizer that works well for me
-
it was developed by
another Discovery Toys representative. I will put you in touch with her if you
are interested.

Put a small notebook in your car to track mileage to and from
business appointments, dropping off catalogues, banking, meetings etc.

Purchase labels and/or a large personalized stamp to label your catalogues and
fliers so that future customers know how to contact you.

Purchase file folders
to help organize and separate business info. - including customer orders,
receipts etc.

Think about opening up or using a
separate bank account for Discovery Toys. This just needs to be an
ordinary chequing account. This will help you keep personal and
business banking separate
9. Write down these phone #s
