Things Every Consultant Needs to
Know/Understand When Starting their Business
Below are several things you need to know to help
understand Discovery Toys and build your business. I have broken this down into
5 points. Please read carefully and call if you have any questions.
1. Terms you need to know right now:
Personal Sales Value (PSV) - The total retail
amount, less hostess free product value (10%) that you personally sell.
For Example: You sell $250.00 retail before taxes and
delivery. Your PSV is calculated as follows:
$250.00
- 10%
= $225
Your PSV in the above example is $225.00

- Incentive program
designed to help you earn FREE products and earn the money back for your
kit.

Product Availability Line (PAL) - Keeps you informed
about available products and upcoming incentives and promotions. Please see #4
for a description of how PAL works.
Recruit - Someone who joins Discovery Toys
Personal Recruit (PR) or Direct Recruit - Someone
who you sign up to join Discovery Toys
Indirect Recruit - Someone who your Personal or
Direct Recruit signs up to join Discovery Toys.
Upline - The Group Manager or above on your team
(see #2 for an explanation about teams)
Downline - Your Personal Recruits and your Indirect
Recruits are considered your downline.
2. What team am I on?
Understanding the way our teams work may be a little
confusing at first. We are all part of the "Winning Team" team. The
"Winning Team" is Cathy Walker's team and we are all part of her down
line. Each time someone promotes to the Group Manager level they 'break off'
with their downline of personal/direct recruits and indirect recruits to form
their own team. This Group Manager and her/his team is still part of the winning
team but they have there own 'sub-team'.
We are the 'sub-team', "Rising
Stars" team - Upline is Wendy Litvak
3. Product Availability Line (PAL) - this is a link
found on consultants online

This hotline has important dates, product availability
status, special promotion information etc. PAL is updated every Monday and
Thursday evening. *It's really important to check this regularly. You will find
out what items are discontinued, backordered, and no longer available to order.
- What happens when you need a toy that is
back-ordered or discontinued: When an item goes on PAL as "newly
listed", the product is going to be temporarily unavailable - this is
usually because we have run out of stock at the warehouse - PAL will give an
approx. time when the products I expected to be available again.
If it is "Newly Listed" on Monday evening
then you will have until Thursday evening to order it.
If it is "Newly Listed" on Thursday evening
then you will have until Sunday to order it.
If an item is listed as "discontinued or newly
discontinued" the same timing described above applies for an order.
However, this product will be discontinued and will not be available to order
after the deadlines mentioned above.
***If you miss the cut-off or want a discontinued item
you can always email me. I will send out an email message - some people carry
inventory and chances are someone will have what you're looking for which you
can buy (or replace if it's temporarily out of stock).

4. DT Connection Calls
Great training opportunity! They cover every
imaginable topic to help you start and build your business. A schedule comes out
each month - you can find the schedule on Consultants online www.discoverytoysinc.com/eco.html
Pick the topic you
want and dial in - the telephone number is on the schedule. The leader of the
call will offer great ideas (you can take notes), and there's also time for
questions and answers. Please not that these are long distance calls. The calls
are about 30-40 min. If you don't have a long distance plan you can try using
YAC, looney calls or investing in a $10-$20 phone card.
